Taiko no Tatsujin Portable DX now official!

Screenshots and details from the Famitsu website!

Taiko no Tatsujin Portable DX is the long-awaited 3rd PSP Taiko game (which nicely rounds out the 3 Taiko games per console for this generation), made in conjunction with Taiko no Tatsujin's 10th Anniversary and features a whopping 70 songs, equal to that of the Wii games. Not counting those that will be downloadable later on!

There's a new mode, something about a nationwide Dojo battle (no, this does not mean online Taiko multiplayer), which looks very much like the dojo boss battles in Taiko DS2, except this time it's a tug-of-war battle like in the old arcades. Apparently, you get to accumulate items and power ups and use them whenever you wish. It's crazy- you have an army carrying an entire building each and you ram them into each other. What.

And not forgetting our guest appearances! Monster Hunter Medley itself is the same song from Taiko 13 and Taiko Wii 3, but the special dancers have been changed for PSP to reflect the Felyne costumes found in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, instead of Cha-Cha from Monster Hunter Tri and Felynes from Monster Hunter Diaries. Then there's the same old dancers from IdolM@STER.

No word on the songlist yet, but once someone gets a hold of magazine scans sometime tomorrow, we'll confirm them!
