Namco Taiko Blog (30 June 2011) - Taiko 10th anniversary 4th big news!

Well, I guess we all know what this is by now~ Read on, cause there are details that are confirmed from yesterday too!
Dual announcement! What's this? Taiko 14 is evolving! Version up with 5 new songs! And of course, not forgetting the Taiko no Tatsujin Donder Japan Number One Decisive Battle tournament! Click here to read our full coverage on the contest details!

The tournament begins a day after Taiko PSP DX comes out, that is on July 15th, and goes all the way to August 7th. Then, two top scorers from each arcade will go on to the area challenge, from August 20th to September 7th. The grand finals will take place atop a stage presentation in Bandai Namco's 49th Arcade Machine Convention on September 17th. The five songs for the first challenge has been announced, and in the list are two of the five new songs I just mentioned! Wait, what are the five new songs then? Remember this thing?

Yep, these are the five new songs involved in Taiko 14's new version, which is a new arcade build with all the current secret songs plus these five, and will be shipped to arcades this July in time for the competition. Just 5 songs to justify a new software release? Wow.

The five songs are: LOVE Sen!!, Mata Saitama 2000 (またさいたま2000), Black Rose Apostle, Uchuu SAMURAI, and Doom Noiz.

Yep, all that speculation about the 'new 2000 song' is true! The series still has legs! Wonder what kind of song it is though, but it's probably another remix of Saitama 2000. It is neither Shimedore nor is it Joubutsu (wow Namco gave a mention to Joubutsu on the blog too, though they haven't actually talked about it in detail yet)
