Taiko 10th Anniversary 3rd big news!

Well that was fast. End the suspense and find out what it is!

It's...a Taiko-themed expansion to Namco Bandai's online avatar/virtual life game, Banafest (バナフェス). Never heard of it? Think of any virtual life game you've played that features customizable avatars, towns, shopping for clothes, furniture and interacting with people and you've pretty much nailed it down. The only difference is who makes it.

This was shown on the Donder page linking everyone to the promotional page of Banafest, while the official blog is currently silent (expect an update on this on Thursday).

The promotion comes in the form of a whole town with a grand festival theme and Taiko's art assets dotted everywhere. With this comes Taiko-themed furniture and the chance to win more rare items.

This might be good news to a small margin of non-Japanese Taiko fans who play this online MMO religiously, which is a grand total of zero people. Another disappointing showing.

  3. I hope the next one will be a Taiko DS4 or 3DS!
I'm somehow better in the portables (I cannot even beat Saitama oni in the Wii version X_X)

  4. If there's a Taiko for the PS3, then that makes a grand total of 5 new games to look forward too. That plus DX = very very money depraved wallet. If you won't have mercy for the people who don't have PS3s, at least have mercy for my wallet.

  5. I have neither a PS3, PSP or a 3DS. If Taiko games were made for all three, I'd have to start selling my limbs to buy all three consoles :P

  6. Unless of course, Taiko goes multiplat and features the same tracklist for different consoles

  7. Not happening - you can't have Pokemon in a Sony console. I recall Namco got into big trouble in the past for putting Advance Generation in Waku Waku Anime Matsuri. XD Anyway, I wanted Taiko to be on PS3 because of the huge space the blu-ray dis has. Not only can it include a lot of songs, but you can also download many songs in return (as long as your PS3 has enough memory); so its value for money. I won't be surprised to see Taiko PS3 having over 300 songs :)

  8. B-but not even the arcade have that many songs.. Namco will need to revive like 100 songs to get all that.. O_O

  9. And here I was thinking Namco got away scot-free for putting Pokemon on PS2 :P Looks like PSP DX isn't getting Pokemon Best Wishes OP after all.
