Namco Taiko Blog (25/07/14) - Kimidori Version's first update

Yesterday's promised other entry for the Taiko Team's blog ultimately turned out to be the announcement of Game Version 1.05 for the Kimidori arcade firmware, the first one for the latest firmware brand. Wanna know what's inside?

Earlier than usual, the first software update for the green-based current Taiko firmware is already introducing new songs! Seven new ones this time, with most of them being brand new tunes on Taiko overall:

Gomenasai no Kissing You (ごめんなさいのKissing You)
Love Song wa Tomaranai Yo (ラブソングはとまらないよ)
 Yokai Taisou Daichi (ようかい体操第一)
 Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari (君の知らない物語)
 BORDERLESS
 G Ishiki Kajou (G意識過剰)
 Oresama Pirates (オレサマパイレーツ)

With only Oresama Pirates returning from a console Taiko game (and most probably dooming its predecessor Ikasama Pirates to an endless anti-revival destiny), this time around we get 5 new licensed songs and a brand new Namco Original, composed by CreoFuga Taiko personality Kaneko Chiharu, already creator of Aisowarai from the contest made for last year's arcade tourney.

On top of the seven songs mentioned above, a new time-limited folder is going to appear on Game Version 1.05, under the name of Featured Summer Songs (夏うた特集). As the name suggests, this is a selection of summer-related songs you can play on the latest Taiko arcades. Expect to see August's summer-related Donchare song on this folder as well, upon its unlock!

... actually, I'm a liar. There is another couple of songs coming for everyone with this software upgrade, regarding a certain yellow, hyper-energetic mascot... You guessed it- Funassyi!

Funabashi prefecture's Japanese mascot will be the first Taiko collaboration under Kimidori, featuring both its theme song Funa Funa Funassyi (ふな ふな ふなっしー♪) and its 'second edition' Bugi Bugi Funassyi (ぶぎ ぶぎ ふなっしー♪) as new addition to the Variety genre. Banapassport players will also be awarded with the Funassyi costume pieces upon playing one of the two songs once! This peculiar collaboration will have a follow-up, but the Taiko Team doesn't want to further spoiler the event for now.

With Game Version 1.05's arrival, the Rewards Shop gets some new purchasable items as well, including Namco Originals Dadakko Monster and STAGE 0.ac11 (now under the old all-caps spelling for some reason), Funassyi-inspired Taiko sounds and the revival of Momoiro Version's two Special Title Parts Gacha, available from July 31st to August 31st.

Last but not least, this upgrade will be the precursor of the future ones in terms of stability and minor issues, such as the re-introduction of the Dojo Ranking, the Taiko School special folder and a proper title unlock for the Touhou Arrange songs to match the Hakurei Reimu outfit.

Game Version 1.05 will be live from August 6th. Until that day, stay fresh!
