First Video: Red ver. V5.08 New Songs

It's an update day for a licensed-tracks parade! See what's new after the jump.

Addendum (20:31 JPT): You Got A O-tomodachi video found.

Soup (3/5/6/8; 443 notes on Oni)

Sakura Fujiwara's hit single of 2016 approaches Taiko gaming in cover form, for an Oni challenge that can be easily described as a slower-paced Egao ni Kanpai experience, due to the song itself being fully charted under 1/12 beats as well, but only slower.

Swan (3/4/6/8; 433 notes on Oni)

Another new 8-star Oni challenge for the J-Pop genre,Alexandros's Swan starts with small sparse clusters before throwing consecutive clusters at the players a-la Ikenai Taiyou, with some longer clusters and slight 1/12 note trickery along the way.

Su・ma・i・ru (ス・マ・イ・ル) (2/3/5/5; Papa Mama support on Kantan; 161 notes on Oni)

Not even a whole season since the debut of the Sekai Fushigi Hakken opening theme on 3DS3, we have to give the scepter to the shortest playable 'legit' track in Taiko no Tatsujin history to another of the latest song additions, as Hana Kappa's opening theme only lasts 38 seconds!

This time, this feat is being made for one of the many other songs in the Anime genre with little to no clusters along the way, with the few ones in there being mono-color.

You Got A O-tomodachi (ゆーがらお友達) (2/4/5/8; Papa Mama support on Kantan; 419 notes on Oni)

Addendum (20:31 JPT): While capture videos appear to have been completely blocked in many regions (including regions that have Red ver.), external filming seems to be safe with no muting so let's settle with that. Being the hardest Yokai Watch song so far (the first ☆8 in fact), the notechart is not shying away from more intense clustering and highly-mixed 5- and 7-hits.

Dancer-wise, the line-up continues to be the Jibanyan-Keita-USApyon-Whisper-Inaho from the second season, but with Keita in his new 'Merican outfit, and the new wacky whiplashing dance from the new opening sequence.

EXCITE (2/3/5/7; Papa Mama support on Kantan; 310 notes on Oni)

The newest track from the long-running Kamen Rider series comes in with different time signatures gimmicks and note types for a 7* Oni song that still feels in the easier side of the tier due to the short length and low notecount.

Alien Alien (エイリアンエイリアン) (3/5/6/9; 746 notes on Oni)

This update's hardest song is the latest Miku-powered addition to the Vocaloid genre, which splices in 1/24 dense clusters alongside a 1/16 notechart basis with some slight scrolling speed changes ofr a recipe that has been appearing a lot in the current Taiko games generation.

Super Dragon Ball Heroes Theme Song (スーパードラゴンボールヒーローズ テーマソング) (2/3/5/6; Papa Mama support on Kantan; 343 notes on Oni)

Wrapping things up for this post, today's last new song addition is the theme song of the latest iteration of the arcade-exclusive Dragon Ball Heroes series, starring note formations that are not too much dissimilar to the charting style featured in the former DBH tracks on Taiko.

This wraps up our latest new song showcase. While we're gathering informations to update our Red Version Dojo Ranking page with the Gaiden trials, let it be known for now that one of the first limited Gaiden trials (more specifically, Challenge from the Taiko Team! ) is hosting Hikari no Kanata e, yet another Namco Original that can be played on modern Taiko arcades only through the Dojo Ranking mode!

Addendum: Instead we have a new, separate Ranking Dojo Gaiden list!
